11:00-19:00 Try interpreting!
Do you have a knack for languages and for thinking on your feet?
Ever wondered what it feels like to be an interpreter in international meetings, such as those held by European Union institutions?
Wonder no more.
Try your hand at interpreting in a fully-fledged interpretation booth, under the guidance of experienced interpreters and interpreter trainers from the European Commission and the University of Malta.
The European Union relies on interpreters for many of its meetings. Explore how interpretation works in this talk by Amy Colman from the Department of Translation, Terminology & Interpreting Studies, and Peter Mifsud from the European Commission’s Directorate-General for Interpretation (DG SCIC).
